Katherine Halpern, PMHNP-BC

Background and training

Katherine began her career in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Westchester Medical Center, where she built a strong foundation in patient advocacy, compassionate care, and mental health support. Working closely with children and families through some of life's most difficult moments shaped her commitment to addressing mental health needs across every field of medicine.

She went on to work in organ donation, continuing to guide families and donors through medically and emotionally complex experiences. Those years deepened her resolve to do more, and she pursued further training, earning her Master of Science in Nursing and her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from Pace University.

Alongside her critical care background, Katherine has worked in both acute inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, treating a wide range of conditions across the lifespan.

Katherine is dedicated to thoughtful, individualized care that empowers patients and creates meaningful, lasting change. She listens closely, treats people as partners in their own care, and brings the same advocacy to the screen that she brought to the bedside.
